Assistant Accountant

Mascot, NSW | $75,000 - $85,000 + Super | Full-Time

We're looking for an Assistant Accountant to join a small and supportive finance team based in Mascot. This is a hands-on role covering a broad range of transactional finance responsibilities across both Australian and New Zealand accounts.

What's involved?

Working closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, your responsibilities will include:

• AP & AR processing and reconciliations
• Invoice, expense and credit card processing
• Fortnightly payment runs and payroll support
• Customer payments, statements and debtors
• Supplier and customer queries
• Bank reconciliations
• Intercompany transactions
• Month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Fixed asset register maintenance
• P&L support and reporting
• General finance administration
• Ad hoc tasks and process improvements

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with previous experience in a transactional finance or Assistant Accountant position who enjoys working across AP, AR and general ledger functions.

You'll ideally bring:

• A good understanding of transactional finance and accounting terminology
• Previous experience across AP and/or AR
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
• The ability to work calmly and accurately in a fast-paced environment

The role involves supporting New Zealand accounts, including payroll, as well as providing assistance across Australian accounts.

The opportunity

• Mascot location
• $75,000 - $85,000 + Super
• MON - FRI - 38 hours per week
• Flexible start times
• Ideally office-based 5 days per week, however there is some flexibility for the right person
• Birthday leave
• Broad role with exposure across AP, AR, payroll and general ledger
