About Us
Our client is a leading manufacturer based in Thomastown, specialising in high-quality switchboard production. Known for their commitment to excellence and innovation, we are currently seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assembly Worker to join our friendly and supportive team on a casual basis, with the potential for permanent employment after a trial period. All current Full-Time positions have been filled from casual workers.
The Role
As part of our production team, you will play a key role in preparing and assembling switchboards for powder coating, as well as final assembly and packaging for shipping. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, following processes, and being part of a team that takes pride in its work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare metal products for powder coating and final assembly
- Assemble components using hand and power tools
- Follow technical drawings and work instructions to ensure accurate builds
- Perform quality checks and functional tests on finished products
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
- Identify and troubleshoot minor assembly issues
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety guidelines
About You
- Day and Afternoon shifts (be prepared to move shifts based on business requirements)
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Skilled with tools such as drills, grinders, and screwdrivers
- Great attention to detail and good hand-eye coordination
- Physically capable of lifting up to 15kg and standing for long periods
- A positive attitude, team player, and quick learner
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to quality work
- Open to Police, Drug and Alcohol Check
