Maintenance Fitter - Afternoon Shift | Industry Leader in Glass Manufacturing

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring all plant, machinery, and automated systems are running smoothly and efficiently. This is a hands-on position with a focus on both preventative maintenance and troubleshooting across mechanical and electrical systems.

This full-time, permanent position is based in the South-Eastern suburbs of Melbourne and offers:

  • Afternoon shift hours: Monday to Friday, 2.00pm to 10.00pm
  • Attractive Leave Entitlements: 4 weeks annual leave and 13 RDOs per year
  • Paid Overtime

Key responsibilities

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on automated systems, covering mechanical and electrical aspects
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and limited electrical faults to minimise downtime
  • Analyse faults using root cause analysis and implement strategies to improve equipment reliability
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes and minimise breakdowns

To be successful

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter, Turner, or similar)
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter in manufacturing, logistics, or processing environments
  • Experience with automated systems and a strong ability to fault-find mechanical/electrical issues
  • Strong PC skills, with the ability to document work efficiently
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
  • Self-sufficient, reliable, and motivated to contribute to a high-performing team
  • Experience in the glass industry is highly regarded but not essential
