Job Details

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Speech Pathologist to join this clinical multidisciplinary team based in Orange, NSW. The role involves providing high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based therapy for clients with communication and/or swallowing difficulties across the lifespan. The successful applicant will demonstrate a commitment to person-centred care, professional growth, and effective collaboration with clients, families, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Speech Pathologist, you will make a positive impact and enable patients to achieve their swallowing and communication goals by:

  • Providing professional, evidence based and comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
  • Developing and implenting individualised therapy plans based on client goals and clinical best practice.
  • Working collaboratively with clients, families, carers, and other professionals to support functional communication outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional, organisational, and funding body standards (NDIS, Medicare, private health).
  • Participating in team meetings, supervision, and continuous professional development activities.
  • Contributing to service development, quality improvement, and health promotion initiatives as required.

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  • Bachelors/Master's Degree in Speech Pathology and eligibility for practicing membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Highly developed skills in assessment, intervention and treatment of adults and children with swallowing and communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and ability to grow the practice.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities within scope of practice.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence based practice.
  • Proficiency in using clinical management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • National Police Check and current Driver's Licence.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with NDIS, paediatrics, aged care, rural health.
  • Familiarity with Australian funding frameworks such as NDIS, Medicare.
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
