Our client are a leading manufacturer of metal hardware and timber supplies and are based in the South East Suburbs. They are currently seeking a Permanent Machine Operator for an immediate start.

• Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4pm. Friday 7:30am - 1pm.

You will be responsible for operating machinery in the warehouse ensuring efficient manufacturing of high quality steel products.

• Set up and operation of machinery
• Monitoring and optimising efficiency
• Quality control of products
• Changing tools
• Maintenance of Machines

Key Duties:

• Set up machinery for operation
• Operate various machinery and equipment according to instructions, in line with manufacturing targets.
• Ensure machine runs smoothly and at capacity - report any issues.
• Perform maintenance tasks as required.
• Work in accordance with company standard operating procedures.
• Understand quality control techniques, including the ability to recognise basic quality deviations/faults.
• Assist leadership team to help identify process improvements.
• Operate forklift and other lifting equipment incidental to the work (if licensed).

To be successful:

• Experience in press machines, steel manufacturing and/or previous experience with (steel builders and hardware products).
• Knowledge and experience operating machinery.
• Good understanding of warehouse concepts, practices and procedures.
• Attention to detail.
• Understands customer deliverables and the impact of failure.
• A current drivers license and Forklift license preferred
